Pietro Siciliano, physicist, senior researcher, received his PhD. in Physics in 1989 at the University of Bari. He is currently a senior researcher at CNR in Lecce (Italy), where he has been working from many years in the field of Sensors and Micro/Nanosystems, being the leader of the Sensors and Micro/Nanosystems Group. Over the years he has performed management activities as well, as co-ordinator and person in charge, both at national and international level in the MST field, of several R&D projects and European Network. His main field of activity covers the realisation of Sensors and Micro/Nanosystems and their application in many area like: agrofood, environment, biomedical, transport, security and Ambient Assisted Living. He has been chairman of Conferences on Sensors and Microsystems and Director of International Schools on Sensors and Microsystems. He is author of about 250 scientific publication on Sensors and Microsystems area. He is member of the Steering Committee of AISEM, the Italian Association on Sensors and Microsystems. He is Director of Institute of Microeletcronics and Microsystems Department in Lecce.
