Pietro Siciliano
Pietro Siciliano, physicist, senior researcher, received his Ph.D. degree in physics in 1989 at the University of Bari, Bari, Italy. He is currently a Senior Researcher at CNR in Lecce (Italy), where he has been working from many years in the field of sensors and micro/nanosystems, being the Leader of the Sensors and Micro/Nanosystems Group. Over the years, he has performed management activities as well, as a coordinator and person in charge, both at national and international levels in the MST field of several R&D projects and European Network. His main field of activity covers the realization of sensors and micro/nanosystems and their application in many area like agrofood, environment, biomedical, transport, security, and ambient assisted living. He has been the chairman of conferences on sensors and microsystems and the director of many international schools on sensors and microsystems. He authored about 250 scientific publications on sensors and microsystems area. Siciliano is a Member of the Steering Committee of AISEM, the Italian Association on Sensors and Microsystems. He is the Director of the Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems, Department of Lecce.
