Shirley Telles completed the M.B.B.S. degree at the Goa Medical College (Goa), India, and subsequently M.Phil. degree in neurophysiology and Ph.D. degree in neurophysiology from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, India. She acts as the Director of research of Patanjali Research Foundation (www.patanjaliresearchfoundation.com), Haridwar, India. Telles has received awards from the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi, India, Fulbright Foundation, USA, and Templeton Foundation, USA. She has 151 research publications related to yoga and ayurveda research in journals indexed in international bibliographic databases (e.g., Medline), 16 chapters in books, and 3 published books. Telles is an ardent believer and practitioner of yoga herself.
