David Hoffman Van Thiel

David H. Van Thiel is a Professor of medicine/surgery with interests in viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease and fibrosis, liver transplantation, hepatocellular cancer, metabolic liver disease, thrombosis, and fibrinolysis coagulopaty and sepsis. He is the former President of the AASLD, and the President of Research Society of Alcoholism and of the American Federation of Clinical Research. Dr. Thiel is a member of many scientific and medical societies and a Board Editor for several prestigious journals. He is a Director Board Advisor for several drug companies. He has over 1200 publications, such as chapters, books, pear-reviewed journals. He is the Director of Research and Liver Transplantation at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Ill, USA.
