Annalisa Bracco
Annalisa Bracco is an Associate Professor at the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA. Dr. Bracco obtained the Ph.D. degree in geophysics and oceanography (2000), University of Genoa, Italy, and B.A. degree in theoretical physics (1995), University of Torino, Italy. Dr. Bracco worked as an Assistant Scientist (Tenure Track position, 2005-2006) at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), Woods Hole, MA, USA and as a Junior UNESCO Tenure Track Scientist (2002–2005) at International Center for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. Current fields of interest are geostrophic turbulence in the ocean; mesoscale and submesoscale dynamics; vertical mixing; tropical climate variability; marine ecosystem dynamics. Dr. Bracco obtained an AMS Nicholas Fofonoff Award in 2011 and Postdoctoral Scholar Award, WHOI in 2000.
