Edwin Chandraharan is working currently as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and the Lead Consultant for Labour Ward at St. George’s Healthcare NHS Trust in London, since 2005. He is also the Lead for Clinical Governance in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has a special interest in acute gynaecology and early pregnancy assessment. He is an Honorary Senior Lecture at St George’s University of London and take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He has a special interest in fetal monitoring in labour, especially cardiotocography (CTG) as well as fetal electrocardiograph (STAN or ST-Analyzer). He has been invited by hospitals in the UK and abroad for training in CTG and STAN. Chandraharan is a Member of International Expert Panel on Fetal Monitoring and ECG and the current Co-organizer for the Intrapartum Fetal Surveillance (CTG) Course at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. In addition, he leads and teaches on the two-day CTG/STAN Master Classes, which are held in London, Manchester, Southampton and Oxford every year. He has published over 50 chapters and review articles in various aspects of high risk obstetric care, including Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CTG) in Labour. He is a peer-reviewer of scientific articles for international scientific journals such as British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine, Journal of Perinatal Medicine and the Green Journal. Chandraharan is the Consultant Editor for Labour and Delivery for the Global Library of Women’s Medicine (GLOWM). Currently, he is editing a Textbook on Obstetric and Intrapartum Emergencies (Cambridge University Press).
