Pilar Ruiz Gordoa

Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Spain

Pilar Ruiz Gordoa received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Salamanca (Spain) in 1994. She has held postgraduate and postdoctoral grants and contracts both in Spain and abroad, the latest of these being a Postdoctoral Senior Grant (Programa Ramon y Cajal) awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Spain. Her research has recently received official recognition with a positive assessment under Spain's I3 programme. She works on various aspects of integrable systems, developing new techniques for such systems and analysing their underlying structures (Lax pairs, Backlund and Darboux transformations, analytic structure of solutions, exact solutions, Lie symmetries, Hamiltonian structure, etc.), as well as studying the applications of such techniques outside of the integrable realm (in particular for mathematical models arising in applications). She currently holds a permanent position at the Department of Applied Mathematics of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain).
