Yu Xie received the B.S. degree in physics from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 2003 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in atmospheric sciences from Texas A&M University, College Station, Tex, USA, in 2007 and 2010, respectively. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Department of Atmospheric Sciences, Texas A&M University. His research interests include optical properties of ice crystals with irregular particle shapes and remote sensing of cirrus clouds and contrails.
