Christakis Damianou
Christakis Damianou has B.S. (1988), M.S. (1990), and Ph.D. (1993) degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona at Tucson, Arizona. He is specialized in the area of high-intensity focused ultrasound for medical applications. He has expertise in MRI monitoring of high-intensity ultrasonics, tissue characterization, and thermal simulations. He worked at the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Arizona (3 years), the Department of Radiology at the Harvard University (1 year), the Department of Biophysics at the Indiana University (1 year), and the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Frederick University (17 years). He has received 11 grants so far and has published about 82 papers. Damianou is now Associate Professor at the Cyprus University of Technology.
