Evangelos J. Sapountzakis

E. J. Sapountzakis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1960. He received the civil engineering degree from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 1984, the M.S. and D.I.C. degrees from the Imperial College of Science and Technology of London, UK, in 1985, and the Ph.D. degree from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 1991. From 1996 to 2001, Sapountzakis was a Lecturer of structural analysis at the Civil Engineering Department of the NTUA, from 2002 to 2007 he was an Assistant Professor, and from 2007 he served as an Associate Professor at the same university. He has been also a Professor of structural analysis at the School of Corps of Engineers of the Hellenic Army since 1986. Since 1984, Sapountzakis has worked out studies of a considerable volume of reinforced or prestressed concrete projects and has served as a structural consultant in large-scale civil engineering projects. He is a charter member of the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) and a member of many scientific institutions. He has given plenary and keynote lectures in international conferences. He is a reviewer of thirty international journals, a regional editor of one, and an editorial board member of seven international journals. He is mainly interested in the linear and nonlinear theory of elasticity, static and dynamic analysis structures, elastic stability of structures, and nonlinear inelastic analysis of structures.
