Mirko A. Rosic has been a Professor at Medical Faculty, University of Kragujevac, Serbia, since 1996. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Medical Faculty, University of Belgrade, in 1988, and 1990. From 1992. to 1993, he has been engaged as a Visiting Researcher, and since 1994 as an Honorary Lecturer at Medical Faculty St Thomas's, London, UK. Since 1998, he has been a Deputy Chief of the Department of Biomedical Research at the Center of Research of Serbian Academy of Science and Arts, University of Kragujevac, Serbia. He was a Dean of Medical Faculty, University of Kragujevac from 2000 to 2001. Also, he was a Vice-President from 2000 to 2001, and President of University of Kragujevac from 2001 to 2004. He has been teaching a number of courses in physiology. He has been mentoring a large number of M.S. and Ph.D. students. His research interest has been in physiology in general, transport of biological active molecules through physiological membranes in particular, as well as biomechanical properties of the isolated tissues and coupling medical investigations with mathematical procedures. He has authored and coauthored a significant number of papers published in international journals. Also, he is the Author and Coauthor for many textbooks in Serbia in the field of physiology. He has been a Member of the New York Academy of Science since 1999.
