Peter Tino

Peter Tino is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computer Science, University of Birmingham, UK. He studied at Slovak University of Technology and obtained the Ph.D. degree in 1997
from Slovak Academy of Sciences. He worked at NEC Research Institute in Princeton NJ, USA (Fulbright fellow), Austrian Research Institute for AI in Vienna, Austria, and Aston University, UK. His scientific interests include probabilistic modeling and visualization of structured data, statistical pattern recognition, dynamical systems, evolutionary computation, and fractal analysis. He teaches courses on neural computation, machine learning, and data mining. He was awarded the Outstanding Paper of the Year award for IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks award, for his paper “Learning long-term dependencies with NARX recurrent neural networks,” and the Best Conference Paper Award, for his paper “Architectural bias in recurrent neural networks - fractal analysis.”
