Jari P. A. Arokoski

Jari Arokoski is a Clinical Lecturer and an Assistant Professor (docent) of physical and rehabilitation medicine at the Institute of Clinical Medicine (School of Medicine) at the University of Eastern Finland. He is a Senior Consultant in physical and rehabilitation medicine at the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine Kuopio University Hospital. He completed his specialization in physical and rehabilitation medicine in 1998 at the University of Kuopio. He was the President of the Societas Medicinae Physicalis et Rehabilitationis Fenniae from 2007 to 2008. Over the past 20 years, his research has focused on cartilage structure and joint loading. Today his main interest is the functional performance of the lower extremities and neuromuscular system of the knee and hip joints in osteoarthritis and rehabilitation in osteoarthritis.
