Xu Yang received the B.E. degree in automation and the Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering from University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, China, in 2006 and 2011, respectively. He used to be a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Automatic Control and Complex Systems, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, from 2013 to 2014. He has been serving as an Associate Professor at the School of Automation and Electrical Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, China, since 2011. His research interests include modeling, process monitoring, fault diagnosis, and fault tolerant control system and their application in complex industrial process with a focus on hot/cold rolling mills.
