Xu Yang received his Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering. He finished the postdoc studies from 2011 to 2013, and now he works as a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Automatic Control and Complex Systems, University of Duisburg-Essen, Essen, Germany, from 2013 to 2014. Yang has been working as a Lecturer at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, China, since 2011. He has published nearly 20 academic papers in international journal or conference in the past 3 years, with the support from 3 national scientific research funds, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (51205018), China Postdoctoral Science Foundation Funded Project (2012M510321), and Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities (FRF-TP-12-104A); his research interest includes dynamic behavior of mechanical-electrical system in hot/cold rolling process, vibration related fault detection, and fault tolerant control in industrial process.
