Eduardo Lazcano-Ponce is a Medical Doctor (Autonomous University of Puebla, Mexico), with a specialty in Clinical Medicine (National Polytechnic Institute). Lazcano-Ponce has an M.S. degree in social medicine with concentration on epidemiology (National Autonomous University of Mexico) and a Ph.D. (Science Doctorate) degree in health sciences with concentration on epidemiology (Mexican School of Public Health/National Institute of Public Health). Lazcano-Ponce did the Postdoctorate at the International Agency for Research on Cancer, Lyon, France. He is a Level II Researcher in the National System of Researchers (SNI). “F” level Researcher in the National Institute of Public Health. Dr. Lazcano-Ponce is a Member of the National Academy of Medicine, Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of Morelos, President of the Committee on Research of the National Institute of Public Health, and Coordinator of the Science Doctorate in Public Health. Actually, Dr. Lazcano-Ponce is responsible as an Executive Director of the Center for Research in Population Health at the National Institute of Public Health of Mexico and Researcher in Medical Sciences “F”. Dr. Lazcano-Ponce has more than 180 published scientific articles in national and international journals and had also leaded several M.S. and Ph.D. thesis. He has participated as a Professor with focusing on epidemiology for the School of Public Health of Mexico. His areas of interest include evaluation of cancer prevention programs and epidemiology of chronic diseases.
