Zsuzsa Schaff received her medical Diploma from the Semmelweis University in Budapest and her Ph.D. and D.S. degrees from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest. She was a Research Fellow and an Eleanor Roosevelt Fellow for several years at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, USA. She became also a Visiting Professor at the Bureau of Biologics, FDA, USA. She served as the Head of the 2nd Department of Pathology of the Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary, and as the Director of the National Institute of Pathology, Budapest, Hungary. Currently, she serves as a Professor of pathology at the 2nd Department of Pathology of the Semmelweis University in Budapest and is a Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Her research focuses on studies on hepatitis C virus infection and hepatocarcinogenesis.
