William Festuccia received his Ph.D. degree from the University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil, and did postdoctoral trainings at Laval University, Québec City, QC, Canada, and Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, Cambridge, MA, USA. Currently, Festuccia is an Adjunct Professor at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and serves as a Member of the Editorial Boards of the American Journal Physiology—Endocrinology and Metabolism and PPAR Research. His main expertise is in the regulation of energy homeostasis, lipid and glucose metabolism, and inflammation by the nutrient sensors PPARs and mTOR.
