Kutlu O. Ulgen

Kutlu O. Ulgen holds a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Manchester (UMIST, UK) where she studied antibiotic production by streptomyces coelicolor with different bioreactor operating strategies. Professor Ulgen has been a Faculty Member at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Bogaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey since 1992, and she has been a Chair since January 2009. She is currently working on systems biology (computational and experimental), computational reconstruction, and analysis of signaling networks (protein-protein and domain-domain interactions) in yeast, worm, fly, and human, drug target identification, rational design of microorganisms by metabolic engineering approaches, and computational physiology.
