Felip Burgos, Ph.D., serves as a Respiratory Scientist at the Lung Function Laboratory of Respiratory Department in Hospital Clinic, University of Barcelona, Spain. During the last 30 years, he has been involved with this laboratory in several topics, and some of them are related to reference values and standardization of lung function methodology. He serves as the Coorganizer of an annual Spanish Postgraduate Course (called Pulmonary Function Testing) sponsored by the Department of Medicine, University of Barcelona. He was a Research Fellow at Harbor-UCLA in Torrance. He has been involved in the Spanish Project for Standardization of Lung Function Tests. He is also a Regular Member of the ERS-ATS Pulmonary Function Standards Committee. He served formerly as the Chairman of the Respiratory measurements and technology Scientific Group of the European Respiratory Society (ERS). Actually, he is a Member of the working group of Quality Spirometry in the Master Plan of Respiratory Diseases (PDMAR) at the Department of Health, Government of Catalonia, and the ERS Task force European Spirometry Drive Licence. Actually, he serves as a Reviewer of Archivos de Bronconeumologia, Respiration, European Respiratory Journal, Chest, Thorax, and the American Journal of Respiratory Critical Care Medicine and as an Associate Editor of Archivos de Bronconeumologia.
