Pierce KH Chow
Pierce KH Chow works as a Senior Consultant Surgeon and Head of the HPB Surgery team at the Singapore General Hospital and Visiting Consultant at the National Cancer Center. He serves as a concomitantly Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and NMRC Senior Clinician Investigator. Chow obtained his surgical qualifications at the conjoint NUS MMed/RCSE exam in 1994 when he was also the gold medalist and subsequently did a clinical fellowship in liver transplantation in Australia. He was conferred his Ph.D. degree in 2004. He cofounded the Asia-Pacific Hepatocellular Carcinoma Trials Group in 1997 and has been protocol chair of 5 multicenter clinical trials in HCC in the Asia-Pacific. Pierce has published extensively in the area of translational and clinical oncology with a focus on hepatobiliary cancers and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. His main research interests are in experimental oncology and bioimaging and in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. Pierce sits on national and international advisory boards and consults for industry.
