Soon Yim Tan

Soon Yim Tan received his B.S. degree with first class honors in electrical engineering from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1991, and his Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 1996. Since January 1992, he has joined NTU where he serves currently an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Program Director (navigation and positioning) of INFINITUS Centre. Tan has published more than 50 internationally refereed journal papers. His research interests are in the areas of propagation models and measurements for wireless communication systems, electromagnetic wave propagation and scattering in random medium, wireless localization and location tracking methodology, RF heating applications, and noninvasive cancer/tumor detection. Tan received the EEE Teaching Excellent Award and the NTU Nanyang Awards for Excellence in Teaching in the years 2011 and 2008, respectively. Tan is a Member of IEEE.
