Sherif A. El-Safty

National Institute for Materials Science, Japan

Sherif A. El-Safty obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2000 and was appointed as a Lecturer at Chemistry Department, University of Tanta, Egypt. In 2005, he was appointed as an Associate Professor at the same university. In 2008, He became a Senior Researcher at National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Japan, leading an independent group of nanodynamic materials designs (NDMDs) that actively support the goal of the Environmental Cleanup System. Concurrently, he has been appointed as a Professor at Waseda University, Japan, teaching nanoscience and nanoengineering. His research theme was based on the fabrication of a variety of mesoporous metal oxide nanotubes and nanoparticles as membrane strips for optical sensing and complete removal of toxic metals/anions/organic compounds and biological macromolecules. He recently established low-cost extraction system based on nanoscale HOM (high-order monolith) materials of rare earth metals from urban concentrate.
