Orhan Yenigun was born in Istanbul in 1954. He was graduated from Robert College in 1972. In 1978, he received a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara. In addition, he received an M.S. degree and a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from University of Wales-Swansea, UK. in 1980 and 1984, respectively. He started working as an Assistant Professor at Boğaziçi University, Institute of Environmental Sciences in 1984. He became an Associate Professor in 1989 and a Full Professor in 1995. Currently, he works as the Director of the Institute of Environmental Sciences. Furthermore, he is a Board Member of the International Water Association (IWA) and an Executive Board Member of the Turkish National Committee for water pollution control. His main areas of expertise are wastewater treatment, environmental biotechnology, and air pollution.
