Pradipta Bandyopadhyay serves as an Associate Professor at the School of Computational and Integrative Scinces, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, since 2007.He received his M.S.degree in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur, India. He completed his Ph.D. degree at the Institute for Molecular Science, Okazaki, Japan. He worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Iowa State University,Ames, Iowa,USA and the University of California, San Francisco, Calif, USA. He also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Guwahati, India from 2004 to 2007 and he was serving as a visiting Associate Professor at the University of California,in 2008. His research interests include development and application of computer simulation techniques to solve biological and chemical problems. In particular, he has been working on different flavors of Monte Carlo simulation to improve its efficiency and applicability for large molecules. Recently,he has become interested in modelling macromolecular behavior inside cellular environment.
