Olimpio Galasso received a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Naples Federico II cum laude. He is a Specialist in orthopaedics and traumatology, University of Naples Federico II cum laude. He served as a Medical Director at the UOC of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the SM Elm (Sa). Since 2006, he holds the position of Researcher of SSD diseases of the locomotor apparatus, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Catanzaro. He worked at the Department of Surgery and Orthopedic Emergency at many Italian and foreign institutions. He has performed approximately eighteen hundred major orthopedic surgeries and microsurgeries. He is winner of two national awards in 2003 and 2004 for the results of his research in orthopedics. He is the author of over one hundred publications including articles in Italian and foreign journals, peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and acts of relation to national and international congresses and courses. Regularly, he is a referee for the Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and the magazine European Surgical Research.
