Gaetano Nucifora obtained an M.D. degree from the University of Udine (Italy), 14/3/2002, completed a Residency in cardiology at the University Hospital of Trieste (Italy), 2003–2006, was a Staff Cardiologist at the Gorizia Civic Hospital, Gorizia (Italy), January, 2007–March, 2007, completed a Ph.D. Research Fellowship at the Cardiology Department of Leiden University Medical Center, Leiden (The Netherlands), May, 2007–May, 2009, with research and clinical activity in the field of noninvasive cardiac imaging (including echocardiography, MSCT, and MRI), completed a Research Fellowship and clinical training in cardiac MRI at the Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Unit of Fondazione C.N.R./Regione Toscana G. Monasterio, Pisa (Italy), July, 2009–April, 2010, was a Senior Research Assistant at the Division of Cardiology of Fondazione Cardiocentro Ticino, Lugano (Switzerland), May, 2010–April, 2011, with clinical and research activity in the field of noninvasive cardiac imaging, was a Staff Cardiologist at the Cardiology Department of University Hospital “Santa Maria della Misericordia”, Udine, Italy, since May, 2011. Nucifora was a Member of the Italian Federation of Cardiology, since 2007, received a grant from the “Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Udine e Pordenone,” Udine (Italy), 2007, received a grant from the “European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions,” 2008, received a grant from the “Italian Society of Cardiology,” 2009, was a Member of the Working Group on Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance of the European Society of Cardiology, since 2011, was a Member of the European Association of Echocardiography, since 2011, and was a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), since 2011. Nucifora published 75 papers (30 first-authored) on peer-reviewed journals, 69 abstracts presented at major national and international cardiology meetings (including the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association), and 1 book chapter.
