processing. In particular, she has investigated novel automatic algorithms for the extraction of moving objects from the background in a video sequence. Her current research interests lie in the areas of video communications and image and signal processing, and her current activities cover blind image deconvolution, blind equalization, as well as blind carrier parameter estimation. She has been active in the MPEG-4 standardization activity, and she has been involved in the N2 Core Experiment on automatic Video Segmentation. She has participated to the 5th European Union Framework within the Information Society Technologies (IST) program "Network Architecture and Technologies for Airborne Communication of Internet High Bandwidth Applications (NATACHA)", and to the national research project (Progetto di Ricerca di Interesse Nazionale, PRIN) "Wireless 802.16 Multi-antenna Mesh Networks (WOMEN)".
