Maria R. Guascito

Maria Rachele Guascito achieved the Laurea degree in chemistry in 1990 at the University of Bari. In 1994, she received the Ph.D. degree in chemical sciences. She is a Lecturer at the University of Bari in analytical chemistry since 1995. In 1997, she started research collaboration with the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK where she spent 5 periods between 1997 and 2001 as a Visiting Researcher. She is associated to both the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) and to the American Chemical Society (ACS). Since 1995, Dr. Guascito has carried out teaching activity in a range of different courses related to the sector of analytical chemistry. Dr. Guascito has been involved in several national and international research projects. Her research interests are mainly devoted to: the development of new methods of analysis by XPS spectroscopy; the development and characterization spectroscopic and electrochemical of amperometric sensors and biosensors; the characterization of nano- and micro-structured materials. She has produced approximately 90 scientific papers published in international reviews (40) and national and international conferences (50).
