Hasan Küçükbay is a Professor of organic chemistry at the University of Inönü at Malatya, Turkey. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Inönü, Malatya, Turkey, in 1985, and he graduated with M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in organic chemistry from the University of Inönü in 1988 and 1993, respectively. He worked for one year as researcher with Professor M. F. Lappert at the University of Sussex, Brighton, UK, in 1991-1992, six weeks as a Researcher under the frame of TUBITAK-CNRS joint project with Professor Pierre H. Dixneuf at Universite de Rennes 1, Rennes, France, in 1995 and three months as a short-term Scholar with Professor Alan R. Katritzky at Florida Center for Heterocyclic Compounds, University of Florida, Gainesville, USA, in 2012. He received his Associate Professor degree from the Turkish Council of Higher Education in 1997. He received his Professor degree from Inönü University in 2003. His research interests have been in electron-rich olefins, their carbene metal complexes and catalytic properties, microwave-assisted Suzuki- and Heck-type coupling reactions, and benzimidazole and benzothiazole derivatives and their microbiological properties.
