Maurizio Grasselli

Maurizio Grasselli was born in Italy in January 11, 1962. He gained a degree (Laurea) in Mathematics cum laude in 1986 and a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics in 1991 at the Università degli Studi di Milano. He works as a Full Professor of Mathematical Analysis at the Politecnico di Milano since 2000 to present, as an Associate professor of Mathematical Analysis at the Politecnico di Milano since 1992 to 2000, a Researcher at the CNR Institute of Numerical Analysis in Pavia since 1988 to 1992. He is also an author or coauthor of more than a hundred of scientific publications on partial differential equations that mostly appeared in international refereed journals and served as a Visiting professor at Ohio University (USA) in 1999, a CNR-NATO Fellow at Ohio University in 1998, a CNR Fellow at Rutgers University (USA) in 1991/92. He also visited several other scientific institutions all over the world and worked as a reviewer for the Mathematical Reviews (since 1995) and for the Institute of Physics (since 1998), and as a referee of several journals (for instance: Communications in Partial Differential Equations, Indiana University Mathematics Journal, Interfaces and Free Boundaries, Inverse Problems, Nonlinearity, Physica D, SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis). He has been a Member of several scientific committees of international conferences. He is a Member of Unione Matematica Italiana (since 1987) and International Society for the Interaction of Mechanics and Mathematics (since 2006). He has been elected twice in the directorial committee of the Seminario Matematico e Fisico di Milano since 2003. He is a Member of the managing board of the Milan Journal of Mathematics, Birkhäuser since 2003.
