Robert Porszasz was born in Szeged, Hungary, in 1965. He received his Medical Doctor (MD) (1989) and PhD (1999) degrees from University Medical School of Pécs, Hungary. After MD graduation he started to work as assistant lecturer in Department of Pathology. He performed electronmicroscopic studies on cardiotoxicity caused by anthracyclin derivatives, flow cytometric and immunohistochemical examinations on cell tissue cultures and on the nuclear matrix. He continued his research in the Department of Pharmacology especially in neuropharmacological field. He worked as a visiting scientist in the Sandoz Institute for Medical Research, London in 1996 then he started fMRI studies on pain at Sandoz (Novartis) Basle. He has a specialization from Clinical Pharmacology (1996) and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) (2006). He fulfilled the requirements of ’habilitation’ (habil.) in University of Debrecen (2005). His interest fields are: sensory neuropharmacology, neurophysiology, circulation and diabetes. At the present he is associate professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy at University of Debrecen, Hungary.
