Xuanping Zhang works as a Health Scientist in the Division of Diabetes Translation, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, Ga, USA. Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. degree in medical sociology from the School of Social and Behavioral Science, University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2002. His research focuses on the evidence-based syntheses for diabetes control and prevention, social determinants of diabetes, and the relationship between diabetes and depression. His recent work on A1C and future risk of diabetes, access to healthcare and diabetes detection and care, depression-mortality association, pharmacological and behavioral interventional effectiveness analyses, and health-related quality of life among diabetic population appeared in Diabetes Care, American Journal of Epidemiology, Archives of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Preventive Medicine, and Medical Care.
