Zhan Shu was born in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, China, in 1982. He received his B.Eng. degree in automation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2003 and the Ph.D. degree in control engineering from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2008. He served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Hamilton Institute, National University of Ireland, Maynooth, and currently, he works as a Lecturer in School of Engineering Sciences, University of Southampton. He is a Member of IEEE. His current research interests include hybrid systems, stochastic systems, positive systems, delay systems, spatially distributed systems, robust and adaptive control, decentralized control, estimation and filtering, statistical signal processing, algebraic geometry in system and control theory, and systems biology with emphasis on cell-regulating networks, immunology, and physiology.
