Erik Cuevas received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1995, the M.S. degree in industrial electronics from ITESO, Mexico, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, in 2006. In 2001, he was awarded a scholarship from the German Service for Academic Interchange (DAAD) as full-time Researcher. He is currently full-time Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Guadalajara. Cuevas serves as Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Mathematical Problems in Engineering. His current research interests include computer vision and evolutionary computation.
