Daisuke Miyoshi

Konan University, Japan

Daisuke Miyoshi, born in Kyoto, Japan in 1971, obtained his PhD in 2003 for research on thermodynamic and kinetic study of DNA structures at Konan University, Kobe, Japan under the supervision of Dr. Naoki Sugimoto. On the same year, he joined University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, IL, USA, as a Postdoctoral Fellow under the leadership of Dr. Yi Lu. In 2004 he joined Frontier Institute for Biomolecular Engineering Research (FIBER), Konan University as Assistant Professor. Since 2009 he is Associate Professor in Faculty of Frontiers of Innovative Research in Science and Technology (FIRST), Konan University. He has published about 75 publications on biophysical and biochemical properties of non-canonical DNA and RNA structures and applications of nucleic acids for biotechnology and nanotechnology. His current research interest is rational design of functional molecules by use of nucleic acid combining with organic and inorganic materials.
