Yongshu Xie was born in 1971 in China. He received his Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University (Hangzhou, China) in 1998. He worked as a Research Fellow in Taiwan University (Taipei, Taiwan), Kyushu University (Fukuoka, Japan), and National Institute of Materials Science (NIMS) (Japan). Xie became an Associate Professor in the University of Science and Technology of China in 2000, and he now works as a Full Professor (Oriental Scholar) at East China University of Science and Technology. His current research interests include porphyrin chemistry, anion and cation sensors, functional metal complexes, and supramolecular coordination assemblies.
