Riccardo Bigi

Riccardo Bigi serves as the Director of the Department of Cardiology, Italian Diagnostic Center, Milano, Italy. He holds an M.D. degree, a qualification in cardiology, a qualification in respiratory pathophysiology, and a Ph.D. in cardiovascular pathophysiology. His professional interests include diagnostic and prognostic assessment of heart disease with different noninvasive modalities including exercise ECG, cardiopulmonary stress testing, rest and stress echocardiography, nuclear imaging, as well as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. His scientific activities include being an author or coauthor of 507 scientific papers, including publications in peer-reviewed journals, published abstracts, invited reviews, and book chapters; an invited speaker and/or chairman at several international scientific meetings including the Annual Congress of ESC and the Annual Session of the ACC; a member of the steering committee of several multicenter studies, a Member of the Scientific Expert Committee of the Euro Heart Survey on Noninvasive Procedures; a 20-year activity as a Reviewer for Circulation, Lancet, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal, American Heart Journal, American Journal of Cardiology, British Medical Journal, European Journal of Heart Failure, Heart, International Journal of Cardiology. He was honored as a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), a Fellow of the National Italian Association of Hospital Cardiologists (ANMCO), a Member of the ESC Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation, a Member of the ESC Association of Echocardiography, a Member of the ESC Working Group on Hypertension, a Founding Member of the International Society for Holter Monitoring, a Member of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, a Member of the New York Academy of Sciences, a Member of the Clinical Cardiology Council of the American Heart Association.
