Wilfried Philips

Wilfried Philips was born in Aalst, Belgium, on 19 October, 1966. In 1989, he received the Diploma degree in electrical engineering and in 1993 the Ph.D. degree in applied sciences, both from the University of Ghent, Belgium. Since November 1997, he is a Lecturer at the Department of Telecommunications and Information Processing of the University of Ghent. His main research interests are image and video restoration and analysis and data compression. He is the Author of more than 50 papers in international journals and 200 papers in the proceedings of international scientific conferences and the Editor of 8 conference proceedings and one special issue of a journal. He has received 10 national and internal awards for his research. He coorganizes 2 international conferences in the area of image and video processing and computer vision and is a member of the program committee of several national and international workshops.
