Dietrich Doll received his Habilitation degree and Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Surgery at the Philipps-Universität of Marburg, Germany, in 2010. From 2006 to 2007, he was a Lecturer at the Technische University München, Munich, Germany. In 2005, he was an Honorary Senior Lecturer, Medical School, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, and in 2004, an Honorary Senior Consultant Trauma Surgeon, Department for Trauma and Burns, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Johannesburg, South Africa. His research projects include incidence of in theatre surgical treatment of gunshot wounds (gsw) and stab chest wounds from resus room patients and consecutive fitness to MEDEVAC. He is a Member of the Editorial Boards of the Global Journal of Surgery, India; Open Access Emergency Medicine, New Zealand; and World Journal Gastrointestinal Oncology, China. He is a Reviewer of the British Journal of Surgery, UK; Case Reports in Gastroenterology, Suisse; Der Chirurg, Germany; Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, USA; International Journal of Colorectal Disease, Germany; and Medical Principle and Practice, Kuwait.
