University of Vienna, Austria
Romano Rupp works with the Faculty of Physics, Univerität Wien, and TEDA Applied Physics School, Nankai University, China. In March, 1985, he started studying physics and mathematics at the University Saarbrücken (predegree in physics, predegree in mathematics). He also had studies in national economics at the University Saarbrücken, and had a Diploma in Physics at the University Saarbrücken with thesis Investigation of evaporated Cu-Fe alloy films, supervised by Prof. Dr. Ulrich Gonser from the Department of Material Sciences/Metal Physics. He received a Ph.D. degree from the University Osnabrück with thesis Microphotometric investigations of thick refractive-index gratings in photorefractive crystals, supervised by Prof. Dr. Eckhard Krätzig (Applied Physics). His academic career includes being an Associate Professor at the University Osnabrück (May, 1990–April, 1994) on habilitation in applied physics with thesis Holographic methods for the investigation of photorefractive materials. Since June, 2007, he has been a Teaching Assistant at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (Prof. Dr. Günther Meißner, Prof. Dr. Kurt Binder) of the University Saarbrücken (Germany).
