Liansheng Tan received his Ph.D. degree from Loughborough University in Loughborough, UK, in 1999. He is now a Professor at the Department of Computer Science in Central China Normal University. In 2001, he worked at the School of Information Technology and Engineering at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, ON, Canada. During 2002 and 2006, he served as a Professor and the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Central China Normal University, China. From 2006 to 2009, he worked as a Research Staff Member at the Research School of Information Sciences and Engineering, Australian National University, Canberra, ACT, Australia. He also held a number of visiting research positions at Oxford University, Loughborough University, University of Tsukuba, City University of Hong Kong, and University of Melbourne. Tan has served as an Associate Editor of the Dynamics of Continuous, Discrete and Impulsive Systems (Series B: Applications and Algorithms) and as an Editor of the International Journal of Communication Systems. He is now on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Computer Networks and Communications and Advances in Computer Engineering. He has served at numerous international conferences as a program chair, general chair, TPC chair, TPC member, and keynote speaker. He has published over 120 referred papers in international journals and international conference proceedings. His current research interests include modeling, congestion control analysis, performance evaluation of computer communication networks, resource allocation, management of wireless and wire-lined networks, routing approaches, and transmission control protocols.
