Stefan Balint

Stefan Balint was born in Cherestur, Romania, in 1946. He received the Mathematics-Mechanics teacher degree (diploma for merit) and Ph.D. degree from the University of Timisoara (UT), Timisoara, Romania in 1969 and 1976, respectively. Since 1969, Dr. Balint has been working at the Faculty of Mathematics of UT. From 1976 to 1979, he was an Associate Professor at the Université des Sciences et de la Technologie d'Alger. From 1979 to 1989, he was a Lecturer at UT. Presently, he is a Professor at the Computer Science Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Timisoara. He is mainly interested in applied mathematics, flying vehicle dynamics and control, aeroacoustics, crystal growth dynamics, economical process dynamics, heat and mass transfer, pollutant transport in porous media, and biological processes dynamics. St. Balint has been a Member of the Scientific and Organizing Committee of the ICNPAA 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012. He is an Associate Member of the Committee of Space Research. He is an Associate Editor of the Analele Universitatii din Timisoara, Seria Matematica-Informatica; Nonlinear Studies; Mathematics for Engineering, Science and Aerospace.
