Hong Zhou received a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Tex, USA, in 1995. Currently, he is a Full Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Calif, USA. He also serves as the Director of the Electron Imaging Center for Nanomachines in the California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA. Zhou's expertise is in the areas of cryo electron microscopy, virology, structural biology and bioinformatics.
