Luigi C. Berselli received a degree in mathematics from the Scuola Normale Superiore and the University of Pisa in 1995 and the Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the University of Pisa in 2000. He joined the Department of Applied Mathematics of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pisa in 2000, and he is an Associate Professor of mathematical analysis since 2006. He is a Member of the executive committee for the Ph.D. School in mathematics of the University of Pisa and of the American Mathematical Society. His main scientific interests are the mathematical analysis of the Navier-Stokes equations and the development of efficient large-eddy simulation models for the simulation of turbulent flows.
