Harish Garg is an Assistant Professor at Thapar University, Patiala, India. Prior to joining Thapar University, Patiala, Garg received a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics with specialization of reliability theory and soft computing techniques, from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India, in 2013, and an M.S. degree in mathematics from Punjabi University, Patiala, India, in 2008. His research interests are in the field of computational intelligence, reliability theory, optimization techniques, various nature inspired algorithms (e.g., genetic algorithms and swarm optimization), and fuzzy and intuitionistic fuzzy set theory. Application areas include a wide range of industrial and structural engineering design problems. Garg has authored/coauthored over 55 technical papers published in refereed international journals including Experts System with Applications, Applied Soft Computing, ISA Transactions, Computer and Industrial Engineering, Computer and Operations Research, International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based System, Journal of Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems, Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization, Japan Journal of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and Journal of Multiple Logic and Soft Computing. He also has published six book chapters. He also serves as an editorial board member in various reputed international journals.
