Alireza Khataee currently serves as an Associate Professor working in the Research Laboratory of Advanced Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes, Department of Applied Chemistry, University of Tabriz. His primary research interests include synthesis, characterization, and application of nanostructured materials (TiO2 and ZnO) for photocatalytic removal of organic compounds from wastewater. He also works on advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) including photocatalytic process, UV/H2O2, Fenton, photo-Fenton, electro-Fenton, peroxi-coagulation, and electrocoagulation processes, and also the modeling and optimization of AOPs using artificial neural networks (ANNs) and response surface methodology (RSM). In the biological treatment of wastewaters projects, he frequently collaborates with colleagues in the Department of Biology at Faculty of Science, University of Tabriz.
