Jose Ramiro Martinez-de Dios

J. Ramiro Martinez-de Dios was born in Salamanca, Spain, in 1973. He received the Telecommunication Engineering M.Sc. and Ph.D. (both with summa cum laude) from the Universidad de Sevilla, Spain, in 1996 and 2001, respectively. Since 1997, Ramiro Martinez-de Dios has been with the Robotics, Computer Vision and Control Group of the Universidad de Sevilla. Presently, he is a Professor in distributed robotics and perception systems. His research interests include distributed perception and data fusion and multi-robot cooperation for perception and robot-WSN collaboration. He is responsible of the Integrated Testbed of the Cooperating Objects Network of Excellence ( Since 1996 he has participated uninterruptedly in 11 R&D projects funded by the European Commission in several Framework Programmes, all of them dealing with distributed perception. He has been a TPC Member for WAC 2004, EWSN 2011 and Robot2011. He has been Cotechnical Chair (with T. Voigt) for the II CONET Workshop. Since 2008 he serves as Secretary of the Spanish Robotics Section of the IFAC and is responsible of the El Libro Blanco de la Robótica (The White Book on Robotics). He has been corecipient of 4 international awards including the "EUROP/EURON Technology Transfer Award" in 2010 for his participation in the AWARE project.
