Arjen M. Rijken

Arjen Rijken earned his surgical degree in 1990 from the Academic Medical Center, the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He worked as a Research Fellow in 1989 at the Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa, USA, and as a KWF-Fellow in 1998 at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institution, Baltimore, Md, USA. In 1999, he completed his Ph.D. thesis on resectable distal bile duct cancer. From 1998 till 2000, he served as a Fellow at the Department of Surgical Oncology of the Leids University Medical Centre. Presently, he works as a Liver and Colorectal Surgeon at the Amphia Hospital, Breda, The Netherlands. His fields of interests include liver surgery, colorectal surgery, and breast carcinoma.
