Anjan Barman obtained his Ph.D. degree in condensed matter physics from Jadavpur University (IACS), Kolkata, India, in 1999. Between 1999 and 2006, he worked as a Postdoc Fellow at Technion, Haifa, Israel; University of Exeter, Devon, UK; University of Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK; University of California Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz, CA, USA. He worked as a Faculty Member at the University of South Carolina, USA, and IIT Delhi, India, between 2006 and 2009 before joining S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata, India, in 2009 as an Associate Professor. His present interest is in advanced magnetics technology, including experimental and simulation studies of ultrafast magnetization dynamics, magnonics, nanomagnetism, and spintronics. He has authored about 85 papers in international journals and gave about 110 presentations in national and international conferences.
