Giuseppe De Rosa

Giuseppe De Rosa was born in Naples on the 13th of February 1973. In 1997 he graduated in pharmaceutical chemistry and technology from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Naples (University of Napoli Federico II, Naples, Italy). In the same year, he obtained a research grant. In 2001 he completed a Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical technology with a dissertation on “Delivery of biotechnological drugs by biodegradable microspheres.” In 2001 he won a grant from the University of Naples Federico II to work at the Universite Paris-Sud of Chatenay-Malabry (Orsay, France). In the same year, he received a grant from the Ministère des Affaires Etrangères Françaises to continue his research activity at the Universite Paris-Sud of Chatenay-Malabry (France). From 2002 Dr. De Rosa served as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Naples Federico II. The scientific activity of Dr. De Rosa is focused on the design and development of nano or microsized delivery systems, based on lipid or polymers, to improve the pharmacokinetics of drugs. Dr. De Rosa is the author of 46 research papers on international journals, 3 book chapters and 4 Italian patents, and 1 PCT. Dr. De Rosa works on a number of research projects, in collaboration with prestigious Italian and international research groups. He works as the Coordinator of different research projects; among them a project supported by Ministero Della Salute (Bando Giovani Ricercatori, year 2007) entitled Ricerca e Sviluppo di Nuovi Gel Bioattivi Per la Medicazione di Piaghe da Decubito. Dr. De Rosa also works as a Unit Coordinator of a project entitled Sviluppo di Nanosistemi Contenenti Acido Zoledronico Funzionalizzati Con Peptidi Per Il Targeting di Tumori supported with PRIN 2009.
