Niko Moritz works as an Adjunct Professor in biomechanics and biomedical imaging. In 2005, he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Biomaterials Science. During his academic carrier, Dr. Moritz has been involved in scientific research on advanced bioactive ceramic materials, imaging and characterization of bone and medical implants, and radiostereometric analysis of migration of orthopaedic implants and fracture healing in clinical trials. In addition, he has also participated in research and development of novel nonmetallic implants based on fiber-reinforced composite technology. Dr. Moritz has 30 original scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. At present, he is employed as a Lecturer in Biomaterials Science at the Institute of Dentistry, University of Turku, Finland.
